Elizabeth Chesak, the coordinator of the WDI USA Desisted & Detransitioned Women’s Caucus, interviews Maia, a 25-year-old Israeli-American writer, researcher, and public speaker. Maia talks about learning to accept herself as a lesbian, finding community with other desisted and detransitioned women, connecting with her Jewish roots, and how living through war caused her to rethink her life plans.

I heard Kara Dansky talk on my local radio station, regarding the effect of trans women on the hard fought rights/benefits that our daughters have in the world of sports and accomodation. I am totally on board in support of this opposition. However, I am hoping that the WDI organizations’ tent is big enough to allow a Pro-Life woman to participate in communicating other feminist issues.
Can you let me know?
Carol Schnipper
Hi Carol. There’s plenty of room in this tent for women who agree that men don’t belong in women’s sports. Our position on abortion differs from a pro-life stance, but we would be happy to have you join us in our opposition to all forms of discrimination against women and girls that result from the replacement of the category of sex with that of “gender identity.” Please email me at [email protected] so I can answer any other questions you have about volunteering with WDI USA.
