Below are the current members of our Board of Directors.

Per our organizational bylaws, WDI USA’s Board of Directors is to consist of 3 to 7 volunteer members. If you’re interested in joining the Board, or in finding out more, please reach out to [email protected].

Elizabeth Chesak

Elizabeth Chesak – President and Board Member

Elizabeth discovered radical feminism in 2019 while deprogramming from years spent in the “gender identity” cult. She is especially interested in connecting older and younger feminists so that the generations may benefit from each other’s knowledge, skills, and ideas. Having first joined WDI USA as Chief of Staff, she currently serves as President and facilitates the organization’s Desisted & Detransitioned Women’s Caucus. Her term began August 1, 2024.

Lauren Levey

Lauren Levey – Board Member

Lauren Levey has been a women’s rights and lesbian rights activist since the 1960s. She has worked to legalize abortion, organized consciousness-raising groups, and was one of the founders of the Sirens Women’s Motorcycle Club in New York City, which rode at the front of the New York City Pride March for many years. She is a lawyer and came up with the idea for the EFAA, WDI USA’s proposed bill that would protect women on the basis of sex; lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals on the basis of sexual orientation; and everyone on the basis of nonconformity to sex stereotypes. Lauren coordinates both WDI USA’s State Legislative Advocacy team and the Lesbian Caucus. She has been a member of the Board since 2020.

Katherine Kinney

Katherine Kinney – Board Member

Katherine discovered radical feminism completely by chance in 2018 and has been passionate about it ever since. She also serves as State Contact for Virginia. She’s particularly interested in applying a sociological lens to feminism and a feminist lens to sociology. In her spare time, she runs a local radical feminist book club and spends a lot of time gardening, and is happy to deliver a treatise on the parallels between men and invasive plants at any time. Katherine joined the Board in March of 2022.

Lorraine Nowlin

Lorraine Nowlin – Board Member

Lorraine always saw the world through a radical feminist lens. As a tween, she questioned the theological teachings about women in her church community. During her teen years, she noticed how the experiences of Black men and boys were prioritized over those of Black women and girls. As an adult, she explored the writings of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, which only confirmed her belief that oppressive patriarchies exist within all races, cultures, and religions. In other words, sexism and the need for radical feminism were not just “white women’s issues.” Having grown up an ADOS Black Woman in the US, she is keenly aware of colorism, hair politics, and the need for self-love and affirmation. It is that awareness that informs and strengthens her belief that if we are not born with the wrong skin color or hair texture, we are not born in the wrong body. She got involved in WDI because it is one of the few organizations that focuses solely on Women and girls. Currently, she serves as the facilitator of the WDI USA Black Women’s Caucus.

Holly Stewart

Holly Stewart – Board Member

Holly traces her serious involvement with women’s issues to the 1970s, when she directed the speakers’ program at her women’s college. So it’s appropriate that her introduction to WDI USA was as a volunteer at a 2023 free-speech demonstration on Independence Plaza in Philadelphia. Since then, she has helped plan several WDI USA events in Washington, DC. Holly describes her radical feminism as rooted in experience more than theory. In her 20s and 30s, for example, working in Africa, she recognized limitations placed on women and girls everywhere, as well as obstacles specific to particular societies. She’s a huge fan of WDI’s Feminist Question Time, especially the country reports. On the board, Holly’s interests include supporting WDI USA members’ feminism and fundraising to sustain the organization’s work. She joined the board in November of 2025.
