The United Nations has solicited statements on violence and discrimination against so-called ‘LBQ women’, and Lesbian Bill Of Rights International (LBORI) submitted this statement in response on January 11, 2026.
Lesbian Bill Of Rights International (LBORI) is an international network of radical feminist, lesbian organizations that have adopted the Lesbian Bill Of Rights (the LBOR). The LBOR provides, in part:
RESOLVED, that the following definitions apply:
- ‘Woman’ means adult human female;
- ‘Girl’ means minor human female;
- ‘Lesbian’ means a human female homosexual; or, a woman or girl who is exclusively same-sex attracted;
- ‘Gender’ means sex-based stereotypes whose purpose is to force all women into a subordinate position in relation to all men;
- ‘Compulsory heterosexuality’ means the patriarchal pressure, indoctrination, and coercion exercised on all women and girls to partner sexually with men and to serve men as sexual and domestic servants;
- ‘Conversion therapy’ means attempts by members of the psychotherapy profession or by religious counselors or others to change a lesbian’s sexual orientation to include sexual attraction to or sexual acceptance of men;
- ‘Man’ means adult human male;
It is apparent in these common-sense definitions that the patriarchal system of ‘gender’, including gender identity ideology, stands in opposition to the rights of lesbians to be free of discrimination and violence: All lesbians are women, and men are neither women nor lesbians – regardless of their claims, gendered presentations, feelings, or surgeries. Women, including lesbians, cannot be protected as classes of people if those classes are not defined. Where members of one sex class can choose to be recognized as the other, any definition of ‘women’ or ‘lesbians’ is illusory.
The forced teaming of TQ+ with lesbians in particular has the effect of erasing lesbians from all public life and driving us all back into a closet that is as restrictive as any in developed countries during the past century.
As a United Nations body, you cannot both engage in such forced teaming (either as ‘LGBTQ+’, ‘LBQ women’, or ‘SOGIESC’) and also protect lesbians against discrimination and violence. In conflating women with men, sexual orientation with so-called ‘gender identity’, and the material reality of sex with gender identity ideology, you are not only failing to protect women and homosexuals; you are in fact promoting discrimination and violence, against women, including lesbians. The world has witnessed how gender identity ideology has had destructive effects on women’s sports, women’s prisons, women’s and girls’ toilets, women’s domestic violence shelters, lesbians’ right to meet publicly as lesbians (Australia and other countries), and on formerly lesbian-only music festivals, bars, and lesbian-rights organizations. This destruction is well known. Equal rights for women including lesbians to participate equally in sports is recent, partial, and hard-won. Civilized people worldwide watched in horror and disgust as a man punched a woman in the face in the name of sport during the 2024 Paris Olympics. In addition, it has been established that the majority of young women who undergo medical procedures to disguise their sex would otherwise be lesbians. The legal protection of gender identity ideology under any acronym has led directly to the physical destruction of young lesbians’ bodies.
Until the UN stops promoting the lies of gender identity ideology, it will continue to be an agent of the violence and discrimination currently faced by lesbians.
