Prohibiting health facilities and staff from discriminating against certain individuals or residents based on the actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) status of the individual or resident.
WHRC USA opposed because single-sex residential health care facilities are necessary to the safety of women and girls, who are particularly vulnerable when they are not only sick, but forced to share enclosed spaces such as sleeping areas, restrooms, and showers when they are undressed.
Status: Introduced on February 5 2021 – 25% progression, died in committee.
