The NCAA’s Board of Governors is meeting on April 25, 2024 to discuss its policy of allowing men to compete in collegiate women’s sports. Now is the time for female athletes to contact them and tell them that women’s sports are for women only, consistent with Article 7 of the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights.

If you are a current or former NCAA female athlete, please follow the instructions below to send a private email to each member of the NCAA Board of Governors urging them to follow the lead of the NAIA and protect women’s collegiate sport and establish a new policy keeping women’s sports female. If you are a parent or friend of a current or former NCAA female athlete, please urge her to do the same.

If you can, please be sure to add your name, sport(s), and school. Or please delete the first sentence of the message below. As always, feel free to personalize your message; personalized messages are more likely to be read.

        Hello,

My name is [ENTER NAME], and I am an NCAA [ENTER SPORT(S)] player at [ENTER NAME OF COLLEGE].

I am writing to you today to ask the NCAA to protect women’s college sports. Earlier this month, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), which oversees more than 83,000 athletes at smaller colleges and universities, voted 20-0 to prohibit biological males from competing on women’s teams.

It’s time for the NCAA to do likewise. Female athletes like me work our entire lives for the chance to one day play in college. But, as you know, collegiate roster spots are limited, and including even a single biological male on a women’s team keeps a female athlete off the team and denies others playing time or opportunities to compete. This isn’t fair. In fact, it’s discriminatory.

Article 7 of the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights reaffirms women’s right to the same opportunities as men to participate actively in sports and physical education. This must include women-only sports.

The NAIA has done the right thing by reserving women’s athletic opportunities for females. I hope that you will also take steps to guarantee equal athletic opportunities for women at your member schools.

        • Fill in the details for [ENTER NAME], [ENTER SPORT(S)] and [ENTER NAME OF COLLEGE] and make it your own however you’d like.
        • Send it off!

Thank you for your help in protecting women’s sports!
