UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women and Girls Criticizes US Department of Education

On December 27, 2023, the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women and Girls issued a statement denouncing the Department of Education’s proposed changes to Title IX, calling them a contravention of international human rights obligations.

We issued a statement thanking her and noting that the Department’s proposed rule changes would conflict with both Articles 7 and 8 of the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights. Now we think it’s time to let Congress know that the whole world is watching while the Department of Education tries to shred our rights by allowing “gender identity” to override sex.
