In this compelling video interview, we delve into the complex and often overlooked impact of sex trafficking on Black women and girls. These victims’ experiences are shaped not only by their sex but also by their race. From as early as 12 years old, Black girls can find themselves ensnared in a web of exploitation, and many remain trapped in this industry well into middle age.

Our guest, Vednita Carter, the visionary founder of Breaking Free, a program dedicated to aiding women seeking liberation from the sex trade, shares her insights. Joining her is Lorraine Nowlin, a WDI USA Board Member and Coordinator of the Black Women’s Caucus. Together, they explore the intricate intersections of race and sex within the sex trade, emphasizing the urgent need for education and shedding light on how this industry insidiously targets Black women and girls.
