A Scottish woman named Marion Millar was recently charged under a Scottish hate crime law for posting tweets deemed “transphobic” and “homophobic,” including one photo of suffragette ribbons tied around a tree. As affirmed by Article 4 of the Declaration, women have the right to freedom of expression about their political beliefs; as such, the WDI USA would like to show solidarity with Marion Miller in protest of her being arrested for sharing her feminist views.
Volunteers in Pennsylvania expressed solidarity with Marion Millar (as well as all canceled and targeted women) by tying ribbons with suffragette colors (combinations of white, gold, yellow, purple, and green) in public places. Along with the ribbons, they also tied notes and placed stickers, addressing current issues and directing onlookers to sign the Declaration. Find more pictures of the WDI USA showing solidarity with Marion Millar on social media using the hashtags #IStandWithMarionMillar and #WomenWontWheesht and of course #SignTheDeclarationWHRC.
