On May 3, WDI USA filed an amicus brief before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in the case of BPJ v. West Virginia. In this case, West Virginia has a law on the books mandating that school sports remain single-sex. BPJ is a young man who wants to compete on the girls’ cross-country team on the basis of his “gender identity” and he sued the state to be able to do that.

At the federal District Court level, the court ruled in favor of the state – that under both Title IX and the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution, states may maintain single-sex sports in schools.

WDI USA is urging the Fourth Circuit to affirm that decision on appeal.

  1. It is extremely unfair to young girls and women to compete against biological men who identify as trans women. When one women is cheated out of a medal or scholarship by a man it is one too many.
Women have a right to their own sports and a space for them to feel safe, i.e. lockers rooms where men don’t belong. It is a danger to have a man that is much bigger and stronger to be around women in a vulnerable position.
Nobody is asking us if we are comfortable showering and disrobing in front of a man. Maybe it’s a good idea for our government officials to ask women how they feel about this.
Seems like no one cares about protecting women anymore.

  2. Keep women’s a sports single sex! Only natal women should compete on the basis of their female sex.
Men who identify as women are not women ,and so they should not compete with women. It is well known that men are physically stronger in all respects, with stronger muscles, stronger lungs.
We do not let 18 year olds compete with 6 year olds in sports, because we know that it would be unfair to the younger children.
In the same way, it is highly unfair to have men competing with women, even if they claim (“identify” ) that they are women.
    Keep sports single sex!
